Grove API quick start

A small, real, read-only endpoint for learning the anatomy of an API request. It returns sample data and is not a production data service.

Authentication

Production staging expects the key in an x-api-key header. A key is shown once; only its prefix and SHA-256 hash are stored. Never place a secret key in client source or a public repository.

Errors

Errors use a stable machine code and a human-readable message. Expect 400 for invalid input, 401 for a missing or invalid key, and 429 after metering is connected.

Rate limits and quotas

The development contract is 30 requests per minute. The route currently advertises the limit; atomic database metering must be connected before staging claims enforcement.
